Our Process

1.    Concept/Story,

The Story Department is where everything starts. The basic idea sees light here within a 3-5 page outline alongside its sister, The Whole Story. The story we tend to write would be strong enough to reach our audience with much of the enthusiasm and interest that’s worth to put it into reality through animation.

2.    Screenplay,

Once our story is fully written and ready, our brilliant Story Department takes it and turns it into a well written script. We tend to fit a one-page script into one minute of a story that combines different information including setting, dialogue and relevant directions.

3.    Basic Character and Environment Design,

Our Art Department mainly focuses on the character, sets and environment description in order to come up with rough sketches and drawings that make the script real and close to the writer’s imagination. Once approved, we move into finalizing the designs.

4.    Storyboarding,

Once the characters and backgrounds are designed and ready, our Art Department takes the scripts and starts placing them altogether with the characters into a form of still hand-drawn pictures, very close to those drawn in comic books. The Storyboard, however, is considered to be the first step into mixing motion and personality with the characters. The Storyboard is like a graphical outline of the main actions and dialogue of the film.

5.    Voice Recording,

Once we settle things in the Storyboard, temporary voices are recorded for the different characters in the film until the story and dialogue are finally approved, professional voices replace those temporary ones.

6.    Animatics,

We place the Storyboard on a timeline where every scene takes its right place. Of course voices will be added to the scenes so they would start feeling right.

7.    Modeling,

Once Animatics are approved, our Modeling Department starts digitally carving and sculpturing the shapes to present a 3D form of characters, sets and environment based on our Art Department’s model packet. In this process, the characters we have start taking their shapes and bodies in a wonderful 3D form and they await for later enhancements.

When our team finishes modeling, we start adding relevant textures to everything to give them the real look, it’s just like when you add spices to a meal, here when things start to taste right.

9.    Rigging,

Models are given to the Rigging Department whose job is to make life easier for animators. Riggers add bones and various controls on to the models and set them up for animating.

10.    Layout,

Being responsible for the appearance of the desired film, shot by shot, our Layout Department uses rough "stand-in" shapes to put together the characters within the environment along with the virtual cameras to create shots that capture the look and feel of each scene to be used by Animators and Lighting Artists.

11.    Animation,

With the final product is ready by the Modeling and Rigging Departments, and with the final layout is approved and validated, our Animation Department starts creating the Character Animation by animating every gesture, emotion, movement, action and personality, and also lip-sync the pre-recorded dialogues.

Then we move on to Technical Animation and Effect Animation that includes simulation of some kind of phenomenon such as fluid, smoke, clothes and hair effects, etc.

12.    Lighting and Shading,

Inspired from the color mood rules created by the Art Department, digital lights are used in every scene so that they are lit according to the specified mood. Our lighting artists also create Shaders for objects and determine how each object behaves with respect to light.

13.    Rendering,

At full resolution, our Rendering Department ensures that every image is rendered converting 3D data into a single awesome looking frame of the film. These rendered frames are then digitally composited together, and color corrected, if necessary, where the final output comes up.

14.    Finishing Touches,

Finally, editorials are ready to add and complete the musical score and the other sound effects. Then we make the film or digital prints and release to the appropriate media.
